LIVE IN THE NOW
“Forever
is composed of now’s” Emily Dickinson
Living in the now is the ability to take in all there
is in the present, and welcome it with an open heart and mind without cheating
your present with the past or future. Often, we lie to ourselves to be living
in the now yet in all truth, we live in the past and the great imagination of
the future. We are often more frightened of our own imagination than the
reality we experience than we care to admit.
The presence of a thrilling and tranquil life is as a
result of living in the breath, and that’s the art that a few have been able to
master. We’re
so busy watching out for what’s just ahead of us, being absent in the present that
we don’t take time to enjoy where we are. And at the end of the day, we live with
a haunting past, a judging conscious of what we were not able to accomplish when
we could, and the opportunities we missed yet they were right before our eyes, and
by our own minds we limit ourselves!
It’s in the present, that we are able to draw all that is in us
and expose it for the sake of ourselves and the rest of the world and likewise,
we take in all that the world has to offer in the moment. That’s how we grow
while expanding our wings without limitation of the past and fear of the
future.
With all honesty, let’s accept that there is much
more in the present and let it be our primary focus. Then, we will realize that
its worth more than the credit we give it. And above all, when we live in the
moment, we give and take and that’s the beauty of life, being able to share.
“The purpose of life is to live it, to taste experience
to the utmost, to reach out eagerly and without fear for newer and richer
experience.” Eleanor
Roosevelt.
